Morven Cottage has been regularly inspected by Visit England at 4 stars (excellent standard throughout; latest inspection December 2019). During 2017 Morven Cottage was let for 48 out of 52 weeks (we need to keep some weeks free for redecoration); for 36 of these 48 weeks the guests had stayed with us before and had chosen to rebook.

Morven Cottage has modern energy efficient gas central heating, unlimited hot water, and is fully double glazed. It provides very comfortable, warm and clean accommodation for 4 adults/children and one travel cot. The cottage has a private patio/garden area with table and chairs. All bed linen (except for the cot) and towels are supplied and all heating costs are covered within the rental.
The accommodation is as follows:
Kitchen: modern fitted kitchen with quality appliances including an electric oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave oven, fridge freezer, washing machine and separate vented tumble dryer, electric kettle, Dualit toaster, Dualit espresso machine, electric iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and DAB digital radio. A high chair is available.
Living room: this room has two leather sofas, a dining table and chairs, an oak bookcase and coffee tables. For entertainment there is a high definition 32" LED television with Humax Freesat HD record system (over 150 digital television channels (with hard drive recording and access to on-demand television through BBC iPlayer, ITV player, All 4, demand 5 and Youtube), together with over 80 digital radio channels), DVD player and a CD hi-fi system. There is a selection of films on DVD (including the Julia Bradbury series Wainwright Walks), and a bookcase containing full sets of Wainwright and Ordnance Survey Lake District fell guides together with several up to date guide books for the area including a number aimed at families.
Bedrooms: two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with twin beds), each with views over Skiddaw and Blencathra, both well furnished and decorated, and each with wardrobes, drawers, bedside tables with lamps and radio alarm clocks. A hairdryer is available. The twin bedroom has its own ensuite toilet and wash basin. A travel cot is available.
Bathroom: the bathroom is a large room with bath, separate shower room, washbasin, large towel radiator, toilet and razor point. There is unlimited hot water available. The twin bedroom also has its own ensuite toilet and wash basin.
Porch: heated with large towel / drying radiator with bench and storage areas for coats, boots and push chairs and a full relief map of the Lake District helpful for planning walks.
Morven Cottage is no-smoking but one well-behaved dog is welcome.

Note that all weeks run Saturday to Saturday (except those including Sun Dec 27 marked as * above). An initial payment of £100 is required to reserve any week (please e-mail or telephone to confirm that a week is still available and to make a preliminary booking). The balance remaining should be paid two weeks before the stay together with a refundable deposit of £50 which will be returned within 10 days of the end of the holiday if there are no breakages or damage. This deposit does not apply if you have stayed with us before.
